Social bookmarks

So-called social bookmarks (e.g. from FacebookLinkedInTwitter and Instagram) are integrated on our website. Social bookmarks are Internet bookmarks with which the users of such a service can collect links and news items. These are only integrated on our website as links to the corresponding services. After clicking on the embedded graphic, you will be redirected to the page of the respective provider, i.e., only then will user information be transmitted to the respective provider. For information on how your personal data is handled when using these websites, please refer to the respective provider’s data protection regulations.

Our presence in social media

We maintain online presences within social networks and platforms (e.g. from FacebookLinkedInTwitter and Instagram) in order to communicate with customers, interested parties and users active there, to accept their service requests and to inform them about our services, topics and campaigns.

We would like to point out that user data may be processed outside the European Union. This may result in risks for the users because, for example, it could make it more difficult to enforce the rights of the users. For a detailed description of the respective processing and the possibilities to object (opt-out), we refer to the information of the providers linked above.

In the case of requests for information and the assertion of user rights, we would also like to point out that these can be asserted most effectively with the providers. Only the providers have access to the users’ data and can take appropriate measures and provide information directly. Should you nevertheless require assistance, you can contact us.

The legal basis for the described data processing in the respective online presences is our legitimate interest in the optimal marketing of our online offer in accordance with Art. 6 (1) f) GDPR.

Duration of data storage

We only store personal data for as long as it is necessary for the purposes for which it is processed or for as long as any consent you have given us has been revoked by you. We use the data you provide to fulfil and process our contract and to respond to your enquiries in accordance with Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR or on the basis of your consent in accordance with Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR. Insofar as you have also given us your separate consent to process your data for consulting, marketing and advertising purposes, Global Eco Plastics LLC is entitled to contact you for these purposes via the communication channels you have given your consent to.

Secure communication on the Internet

In general, the Internet is considered an insecure medium. In contrast to a telephone line, for example, it is easier for unauthorised third parties to intercept, record or even alter the transmission of data on the Internet. In order to guarantee the confidentiality of communication with you, we use so-called SSL/TLS encryption in accordance with the current state of the art. According to the current state of knowledge, the 256-bit encryption possible with this is to be regarded as secure. All browsers of the younger generation achieve this level of security. If necessary, you should update the browser on your end devices.

Updating your information

If you believe that the information, we hold about you is inaccurate or that we are no longer entitled to use it and want to request its rectification, deletion, or object to its processing, please do so within your account or contact us. For your protection and the protection of all of our users, we may ask you to provide proof of identity before we can answer the above requests.

Keep in mind, we may reject requests for certain reasons, including if the request is unlawful or if it may infringe on trade secrets or intellectual property or the privacy of another user. Also, we may not be able to accommodate certain requests to object to the processing of personal information, notably where such requests would not allow us to provide our service to you anymore.

Links to other providers

Our website also contains – clearly recognisable – links to the websites of other companies. Insofar as there are links to websites of other providers, we have no influence on their contents. Therefore, no guarantee or liability can be assumed for these contents. The respective provider or operator of the pages is always responsible for the content of these pages.

The linked pages were checked for possible legal violations and recognisable infringements at the time of linking. Illegal contents were not recognisable at the time of linking. However, permanent monitoring of the content of the linked pages is not reasonable without concrete indications of a legal violation. Such links will be removed immediately if infringements of the law become known.

Personal information and children

Our services are aimed at people aged 18 and over. We will not knowingly collect, use or disclose personal information from minors under the age of 18 without first obtaining consent from a legal guardian through direct offline contact.

Your GDPR Rights

If you are a European or Swiss Citizen or resident, you have the following rights:

  • to confirmation as to whether data relating to them is being processed,
  • to information about the data processed, to further information about the data processing and to copies of the data;
  • to correction or completion of incorrect or incomplete data;
  • to immediate erasure of the data concerning them;
  • to receive the data concerning them and provided by them and to transfer this data to other providers/controllers;
  • to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority if they are of the opinion that the data concerning them is being processed by the provider in breach of data protection provisions.

In addition, the provider is obliged to inform all recipients to whom data has been disclosed by the provider of any correction or deletion of data or restriction of processing that takes place. However, this obligation does not apply if such notification is impossible or involves a disproportionate effort. Notwithstanding this, the user has a right to information about these recipients.

Likewise, users and data subjects have the right to object to the future processing of data concerning them, insofar as the data is processed by the provider. In particular, an objection to data processing for the purpose of direct advertising is permissible.

The above rights may be limited in some circumstances, for example, if fulfilling your request would reveal personal information about another person, if you ask us to delete information which we are required to have by law, or if we have compelling legitimate interests to keep it. We will let you know if that is the case and will then only use your information for these purposes. You may also be unable to continue using our services if you want us to stop processing your personal information.

Please direct all requests for information, requests for information or objections to data processing to us.

California Specific Rights

If you are a California resident, you have the following rights:

You have the right to:

  • request, up to two times each year, access to categories and specific pieces of personal information about you that we collect, use, disclose, and sell.
  • request that we delete personal information that we collect from you, subject to applicable legal exceptions.
  • “opt out” of the “sale” of your “personal information” to “third parties”

In addition, under California’s “Shine the Light” law, California residents who provide personal information (as defined in the statute) to obtain services are entitled to request and obtain from us, once per calendar year, information about the personal information we shared, if any, with other businesses for marketing uses. If applicable, this information would include the categories of personal information and the names and addresses of those businesses with which we shared such personal information for the immediate prior calendar year (e.g., requests made in the current year will receive information about the prior year).
